Another project that I have been working on is burp rags. I have had lots of friends have babies, and my sisters both had babies. So I wanted to make some burp rags. I wanted them to be unique. So here is what I came up with. The ones below were made on white Gerber diaper clothes. I just measured the fabric and sewed it on. The back side is super soft. Then I added the ribbon for decoration, I mean hide my mistakes! As far as the monogram goes, I downloaded the letter M from some google picture, and then cut it out and put it on!
These ones, I drew out a pattern. I wanted it to have some contour to the sides, so when it sits on your neck, it just kind of goes into your neck line. Does that make sense? One side is fabric the other side is super soft fabric. Then I cut out a bird and sewed it on. These were super fun to make. Now I just need to get them mailed to the right people!
I found a website called Oliver + S. It has some free tutorial’s for sewing. So, since I need LOTS of practice in sewing, I tried one out. I wish I was a better seamstress! My mom is so talented in this way, I can only hope that one day I will be better!
I found this idea at Crafty Daisies and decided to try it today. The kids had so much fun, especially when I said you get to peel all the paper off and you get to break the crayons into little pieces. They were like YES!!! So here are all the broken crayons:

These really are really good for little hands. They had the idea on Crafty Daisies to put some in a bag and give them as gifts. And I think that is a great idea.
My eldest is at Sports camp all week and he is having a blast. He wants to play real football next fall and I think I am going to let him. I think he will make a great player. He starts basketball in October and so does Chandler so we are going to be very busy with sports stuff. I am doing some new stuff with my eldest this week. And it seems to be working pretty well, I must say though that I am exhausted at the end of the day. It is taking all my energy. We got the final chore charts hung up and the kids are really enjoying putting there stickers on there chores for the day. I am trying to get really structured for him and see how that helps behavior and it seems to really help, but like I said it is tiring. We will see how the rest of the week goes.
Today I went into Chick -fil- a and I was sitting in the play area and all of a sudden Hillsong started playing and towards the end of the song everyone on the CD was just worshiping the Lord in there own way. It was so cool. I was like I am sitting in a public place listening to this, awesome. Then all these worship songs came on, it was great.
Anyways, I need to start dinner. Everyone is getting hungry…
So the official name for our dog is OREO!! The kids have really taken to him. Bryce has been sleeping with him every night. It is pretty cute.
Today I drove half way and met my mom and dropped off Chandler and Benjamin to her. She will be keeping them for the next 11 days. My house is SOOOO quiet. It is almost scary, but I am not complaining….it has been relaxing.
So we have alot going on in our house right now with my oldest son. I can not really elaborate on what. But our life will not be the same from now on. I have so many questions going on in my head. Why me…has been my top one. But “why not me”, the Bible never said I would be without problems. I am heading into this problem with full force. I am trusting the Lord to show me stuff, and give me wisdom beyond my years right now. I am asking for his peace. His joy. His strength. I am fully determined to come out on the mountaintop and give him the glory for what he has done. It does not mean the road will be easy. I know full well it will be hard. But I also know beyond a shadow of a doubt that He will carry me and my family through this trial. He will guide us. He will protect us. He will hide us in the shadow of his wings. He is going to grow us. Mature us. When I was driving home today, I felt lonely for a few minutes, and then I began to look around and everything was so beautiful. So green and crisp. And I was gently reminded that He is all around me, He is everywhere I go, He who created all of that cares so much for me. So I am thankful today for my trial that awaits me. I know it will bring me closer to Jesus. It will bring my family closer together. It is going to make me a better person. Like I said earlier, I know it is going to be soooo hard to walk through and in those moments I will walk hour by hour.
My strength comes from you Jesus.
Oh I almost forgot to mention that I got my box from the craft swap I was doing. Stephanie sent me all sorts of goodies. Felt, socks, silly putty, the cutest frog that opens his mouth and there are flies inside, knitting stuff, home made earrings, shrinky dinks, and more but I can not remember. I hope she enjoyed my box as well. This was my first swap that I have done. Next time I will be sure to stuff even more inside. Thank you so much Stephanie for all the wonderful goodies. Okay so I wanted to do something with all the burp clothes that I have. And this what I came up with. I used felt and stitched her name on to it. And then I sewed a piece of fabric on to the back of it. I am still learning all these things. I get a bit frustrated with myself. Cause I have friends like Joy, who does some pretty incredible work.
Well here is my first craft. It is a Pin Cushion. Now that I have learned from all mistakes, I hope to make a few more for some friends. This was so easy to make. I used regular felt and stitched it together. You can personalize this however you want. I used stuffing to stuff it, and I added some popcorn kernels to give it some weight. I am new to all this stitching, so don’t look too closely at it all!
