Walking Humbly

This morning, My 4 year old was singing some songs to a veggie tales Cd that we have. He came down stairs and said, “Mom, I will always walk Humbly before God.” The song was about walking humbly. And so today my prayer for him is that he does always walk humbly before God. That his eyes are always steadfast on our faithful God. That his ears are always attentive to what the Lord has to say to him. That his feet and hands always want to do His will. That is my prayer for each of my kids actually. I don’t care what they want to become. If they feel like that is what God wants…then I want that too. My prayer for them is that there testimony would be one where they can say,”I never did drugs, drank, or slept around, but God held me in his hands and I was always attentive to him. He sustained me” What kind of prayer do you have for your kids?

I am happy that I have my eyes fixed on HIM. He is always faithful, loving, kind, joy, peace, my guidance, my healer, my provider, my constant friend, he is my self esteem, he gives me laughter, gives wisdom, my counselor, an abundance of love, he is graceful, he is merciful, and so many more things. It is so important to have our trust in God alone, because man WILL fail us, because they are not perfect. Man will irritate us, disgust us at times, but not God, He is so big. He is so awesome. I have seen some incredible things throughout my life. I feel blessed that God would allow me to see things that most people never experience in there lifetime. I have seen some negative as well. And I can say I am happy to see the negative as well because it is a reminder to me that our confidence and trust is to only be in Him. In my own life I have been to what seemed like Hell and back. I have seen God’s hand move in my own life. I have experienced his inner healing. I have felt his restoration. I have experienced his grace and mercy. I have watched him deliver me out of horrific circumstances. I have watched him provide for me like only he can.

So today I walk humbly before God.

On a FUNNY NOTE: My 3 year old was singing a song for kids by Hillsong. And after he was done he said, “Mom God is better than barbies!!!” I was like okay. Then he said, “Barbies are for girls and Guns are for boys like me!!!”
