I wrote her a letter…

October 5th, 2008

Tonight I finished my letter for baby. I know some might think it is weird that since I am not the birth mom to write one. But I have been her mom since March. And I feel in order for me to move on, I needed to do this. I wanted her to know how loved she was and that she was in a good home. Although this time for us is bittersweet. Can I tell you the Lord has given me a love for babies new mom and I know she will be well taken care of. I know she will be raised in a Godly home. She will be taken care of physically. Emotionally. Spiritually. Financially. Every aspect of her life, God has it all worked out.

Tomorrow we meet them for the first time. I am anxious. Yet so Excited. I feel like I have a connection with there family. The biggest thing, is that this is GOD. His hand is written all over it. WE have so much peace. Can I tell you when the Lord specifically asks you to do something, he gives you the peace to walk through it. He gives you the grace. We know in our hearts that this is the family for Krystina. Beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Today also the Lord showed me why we are walking through this. Maybe one day I will share, but for now it is too personal. God is good. He is faithful. Our lives our a tapestry. He is constantly weaving threads (circumstances in our life) in and out. He is creating a master piece in each one of us. We are looking at it from below, and he is looking at it from above. You know when you look at a blanket on the wrong side it is not always pretty. Sometimes I have thought God this is not pretty. And then he reminds me that he is looking at from the other side and it is beautiful to him.

So if you are struggling tonight with whatever…remember that God is the author of our lives. He is the beginning and the end. His plan is perfect for us. His ways our not our ways. But his plan is always perfect. :)

I think writing Krystina a letter is wonderful. She will be able to read it later in life, and remember the love that your family gave her and her mom. Your story with this little girl has been kept close to my heart, I am praying for you and I’m here if you need me! I am also just now reading all these because our computer was getting fixed, so I’m trying to catch back up!

Heidi, Your posts throughout this process have truly blessed me. I am so glad you wrote the letter! We have a letter from the family who cared for one of our daughters her first three months of life and I am so glad for that … so she knows she was loved and cherished even before she came to us. I know that will be true for Krystina as well!
